Things to seeMenorca ClimateThings to do
Not only a heaven of natural landscape and wonderful beaches, the idyllic island of Menorca
has so much more to offer its visitors. Menorca is well known for its collection of stone
monuments that date all the way back to prehistoric times and can be found in many locations
across the island. The historic cities of Mahon and Ciutadella, with serpentine cobbled streets
and picturesque architecture are both wonderful examples of traditional antiquity.
Menorca is blessed with a typically Mediterranean climate which brings mild, balmy winters and
long hot summers. The summer months of July-September see temperatures averaging the high
twenties and around eleven glorious hours of sunshine a day. The remaining months see
temperatures of around 15-25 degrees Celsius, and the ‘tramontana’ is a northerly wind
which visits the island around March.
Holidays in Menorca offer something for everyone, with traditional villages, beautiful
coastlines and delicious cuisine. Restaurants abound with traditional Spanish tapas, and
fresh seafood is not to be missed. Spend hours browsing the shops, markets and stalls, or
live it up amidst the island nightlife. Typically Menorcan, evenings are relaxed, laid back
and slow paced. There are a few lively bars and most of the hotels provide live entertainment
for all round family fun.
