Corfu HistorySightseeing holidaysActivities
On Corfu you will find a long and mixed heritage with glimpses of the
Greek, Roman, Venetian and French civilisations which have all occupied
the island over the years. These days the old town of Corfu is on the UNESCO
world heritage list and provides a look back over the island’s colourful history.
There are plenty of attractions to keep you going when holidaying in Corfu. From the
beautiful buildings of the old town, to the Achilleion palace themed on the mythical
character of Achilles. Tour the North coast and see the traditional fishing village of
Roda, a popular resort that still retains its local charm and character. Providing
something for everyone, Corfu is a vibrant and enjoyable destination.
Enjoy a fun family day out at the Aqualand water park, where slides and attractions of
all sizes will entertain your afternoon, or visit the cliff top village of Kanoni.
Situated to the South of Corfu Town, Kanoni offers stunning views out over the Ionian
and of two small islands. One of these islands can be reached by a causeway and is home
to the Monastery of Vlahkerna, while small ferries can take you to the other island.
