The Botanical Gardens created for the University of Pisa are beautiful and serene, and allow
for lazy afternoons in the sun surrounded by beautiful plants and landscaped gardens. Join
the students as they relax, indulge in a good book, or even study within these lovely
surroundings. Stretto Borso is the perfect place for finding quality goods and meaningful
souvenirs, and is less crowded than the shops close to the tower.
The world celebrated Museo Nazionale di San Matteo is a beautiful museum within Pisa with
one of the most impressive collections of medieval paintings in the world. It is a lovely
place to spend an afternoon if you want a cultured activity out of the sun. Alternatively
treat yourself to a famous Italian ice cream and stroll along the banks of the Arno River.
There is no better way to see some of the older buildings and beautiful sights.
Pisa has a number of dining options both close to the main attractions as well as in the
quieter areas of the city. Visit during the daytime and indulge in a hearty lunch in one
of the many cafés around the town, where fresh salads, delicious baguettes, traditional
pastas and of course pizza can be enjoyed. Whilst dining in the evening allows for finer
experiences if you wish, with some simply tantalising Italian meals served by candlelight
under the stars.
